Was headed towards my pickup this morning and my trusty broker calls wanting ETA because her customer wants to get everything ready for my arrival... Sounds great.
I tell her I'm 30 minutes away, fantastic was her reply.
5 minutes later she calls back to inform me the load is canceled!!! SMH![]()

If it's any consolation to your problem, those 5 minutes could've lead to bigger problems (accident, etc.). You got off easy this time

Rideandrepair, Trucker61016 and JonJon78 Thank this. -
Oof. Sorry dude. That stuff sucks.Rideandrepair, D.Tibbitt and JonJon78 Thank this.

I hope there going to pay for a TONU?
If your going that way and feel like it, stop by the shipper and say "I'm here to pick up xyz123 going to wherever" and see what kind of answer they give you.Mattflat362, Lite bug, Tug Toy and 9 others Thank this. -
Just guessing at this so take it with a grain of salt.
The shipper didn't "cancel" that load. An order for a tractor trailer just doesn't get "cancelled".
What the receiver decided they didn't need a tractor trailer load of inventory? And if something else happened like production or mechanical failure the broker would have been happy to explain the problem instead of saying it's "cancelled"
Translation, someone else got that load.old time, tlalokay, Mattflat362 and 10 others Thank this. -
Depends. I run into actual cancellations or postponements from time to time. It's usually a matter of a job getting cancelled, or a jobsite getting shut down, or my customer's customer deciding to cancel the order for timeline reasons, or so on. I can't actually speculate as to what happened in @JonJon78's case, but those are the most common reasons that happen on my end.Mattflat362, JimmyTwoTimes, 86scotty and 6 others Thank this.

Sure. That does happen. But an explanation from what I have read wasn't given, just that it "cancelled".
I showed up about 5 years ago at a chemical plywood treatment plant after the broker called and said it was cancelled. Guess what, I picked up the load and called the broker back and said, there must have been a mistake. This load is good, I got it and it's on the way.JolliRoger, Mattflat362, Lite bug and 9 others Thank this. -
Certainly, and situations like yours happen as well. Just pointing out that it could actually have been a cancellation. That's all.Midwest Trucker, Rideandrepair, 6wheeler and 1 other person Thank this.

Sometimes the receivers credit doesn't go through
Rideandrepair Thanks this. -
You must work with really crappy brokers for it to always be some under handed terrible seedy people wit no scruples or ethics it’s probably your service failures you have from just leaving loads you have with so many companies that you have to work with people with the low business ethics you have to work for.The OP didn’t give a lot of information for you to say the broker didn’t give I don’t know if that’s true or not but believe it or not loads do cancel for many reasons.JimmyTwoTimes, Rideandrepair and p608 Thank this.
