I am seriously considering buying the Cobra 19. I was told by some friends of mine that they would buy a Cobra 25 because they can be worked on to put out up to 25 watts? but what does that mean exactly? does that mean that what i say in my mic can go further? because, i thought that all depended on your antenna.
plus, i'm not to big on modifying my CB. If I buy it, i will keep my receipt in case i don't like it and want to return it. But, what is I got a Cobra 19 and paired that with a lil will? wouldn't I be able to get some decent range?
I'm really just looking for something to install in my pickup truck to monitor the airwaves. I like listening to folks.

The 19 sucks. Go with a 25 or preferably a 29
-
Can you tell me why the 19 sucks?
-
Just can't do alot to them, but then again, you don't really want it to be modded. Personally, I don't like the RX and TX on them.
-
For what it is,it is.
25's and 29's can be reliably tuned with room for other internal mods
-
i have a cobra 19 hooked up to a lil wil. i have no complaints. I actually like it because its easy to install and easy tuning for the antenna
-
the 25 is a way better radio and very little more cost.get the 25
-
I'm thinking i will try the 19 first and then if i don't like it, upgrade to a 25 or 29. I just want to be able to get some decent range with the right antenna and hear all the funny #### on the trucker channel. plus, there is a CB shop here in town that can tune it, or whatever needs to be done. I seriously doubt i will be modding anything. as long as i can get some decent range and hear the crazies, i'm good.
