    I am currently looking at starting a new career at conway freight in Lawrenceville, GA. I will be doing the training course to get my cdl with them and hopefully start driving a truck soon. I have already read many things about Con-Way on these forums, it sounds like i will be doing a lot of dock work to start out until I get my choice in loads but I haven't yet seen anyone explain really how you get to bid or choose a load? I was also wondering if conway assigns you your own truck or how does that work? any kind of info about Con-Way freight or about the Lawrenceville, Ga location would be helpful, thanks.

    They fired a lot of em around Christmas last year.

    Norcross & Lawrenceville were stealing TVs and other freight.

    Cleaned house.


    I've seen the new hires doing the obstacle course with a single pup opposite end of office. Wasn't very difficult.

    Don't be a thief they have extra eyes on that place.

    Lawrenceville has some truck restrictions. Just pay attention. Terminal is located down a hill. Pulling out that place can be a pain if you are heavy as you are on an incline with blind curves and 4 lanes of traffic to cross. State police also likes to sit at that stop sign and pull ppl over right beside your take off.

    I've only went down the road past Kroger to papa johns (if the braves win ala 50% off) and into town once to long johns. Can't really give you a detailed scope of running the city as a whole.
