Hey ya'll. My name is Missy Originally from Vermont, but moved to Nashville. My brother got his cdl recently, and is working for a towing company. I have gotten to ride in the big trucks with him as well as one of his co-workers. BTW being in a truck for 16 hrs straight isnt as bad as i thought it would be. Anyway i have been listening to some current and former truck drivers that are in my life. I have been asking for the pros and cons of a trucking career.

    So lemme here it.

Thanks :) The trucking company he works for does business with a generator company so we had to run from nashville tn to dayton tn and then to smyrna tn and then to antioch tn and finally back to nashville. It was a lot of fun. the driver i was with shared a lot of stories with me. The worst part was going threw the appalacian mtns. Up and around a lot of curves then down and around a lot of curves. we came up on a car on their hood. scary stuff in the mtns.

Do you want to go t/t or get your Class B??? Also, if you go t/t do you intend on going to company sponsored training (this requires a commitment of one- two years to pay back a loan) or attending a school and going to a company. Once again welcome aboard and remember help is only a click away on here.

I understand Class B. My brother has his class A. i have no idea what t/t is. What my brother did to get his was study his book and practice with one of the c class towtrucks (the ones that pull ya'll when ur trucks break down) and learned that way and took his test. So i guess im not sure. guess its good i have about two and a half years till i turn 21

T/T is tractor is trailer Missy. If you can get in with your brother at the towing company, shoot for your Class B. You might have 2.5 years, but it never hurts to start early especially if you can find someone willing to give you a job before hit the magic 21.
