Can I ask how much you make a week driving the van? You won't make more than $500 or $600 net your first year driving for any mega. Can I also ask what company you drive for and other general info about the cargo van expedite industry. Like how much the van earns, what lanes you run, how heavy are the loads, etc. I am wanting to get into this.
Along with weight stations, DOT inspections, log books, weight restrictions etc etc. Driving a cargo van is a road trip compared to semi truck driving. If this industry wasn't so over regulated it wouldn't be that bad.
Considering the switch

I'd suggest going company for a year or so to learn their system first, though. I'm pretty sure that they won't let you lease right out of training - too many people fail out of the gate. -
I drive a 2012 144' Mercedes Sprinter. I drive under Tri-States authority. Pay can really vary from as low as $30 one week when I sat and never got a load. Only money that week was dead head miles when they sent me places. Owner throw me a bone that week by paying me the $30 lol. I've made as much as $1,100 in one week but that was driving an insane amount of miles over 5 straight days. I finally just this got a mattress to sleep on in my van but I have no heater of creature comforts. Can't leave it running for heat unless I buy the gas which I can't always do

I mostly run east of I75 but the last couple of days I've been in Wisconsin freezin my buns off lol. I admit that driving a van is SO much easier than a truck but the waiting for days on end gets old fast especially since I'm under 10k gvw so no logs. Money can be good and probably better than a mega but I like driving not so much playing the waiting game especially when all I have is my thoughts lol

It doesn't have any idle mods done to it just base engine sprinter. My owner pays for the fuel and is rather good at math so when I finish a load after dispatch I talk to him and he either asks how fuels in the van or guess almost spot on how much is left. Fuel is really the only thing he's really strict about. Like I can turn a load down if I don't think it's good enough or I'm tired. Plus this van being a diesel and tri state getting discounts on fuel at loves truck stops means you save I think 5 cents a gallon so I assume that adds up even in my smaller world

But another thing that is also goes into my list of pros for the mega carriers is insurance which I don't currently get thru my owner
