Anybody else ever have problems cooking food on their exhaust manifold? Seems like after fixing my exhaust leak at the turbo my foot tastes better but #### 20 miles to cook a hamburger from the fridge at a trucks top seems like it took a little to long.
cooking times.

you won't wanna be cooking on the exhaust come winter time. LOL. too #### cold

I didn't even know they made those. Sounds like a better solution though. Actually the manifold technique works well I usually use it for canned food more than hot dogs and hamburgers. Take a few pieces of wire wire a couple cans of spegetti and meatballs on there, some corn, green beans, and by the end of the day you've got yourself a $3 full meal. Until you forget the can opener

Lol no kidding. Its finally warmed up enough to try it again lol. Buddy tried to cook a hotdog last winter we found out winter fronts don't help...got home and the hotdog was warmer when it came out of the fridge lol.mje Thanks this.

Hmm I'll have to try that sometime, I've heard of people cooking roasts n such that way too, heh.
But yeah, they're sold at all the main truckstops for about $30 and they heat up to 300 degrees. Takes about 15-20 mins to heat up bratts, rice, soup, chili, etc to a steaming hot temp. I use mine almost every night.
The tin inserts are a ripoff though ($4 for 3 I believe), pickup a $2 roll of tinfoil to line it with and you're good to go! -
Get a roll of aluminum foil, cut off a sheet, fold it inside the little black lunchbox, throw some brats and rice down in there with water, smell them cook as you drive down the road, stir occasionally and eat. Good stuff.

That's probably why I havn't seen them I don't get into the big truckstops very often it's usually a mom and pop throw in 100 gallons and get to the elevator. +1 on the roasts surprisingly that works better than an oven. I'll remember that about the inserts keep a roll of tinfoil in the truck. Learned my lesson putting paper on the manifold it burns through rather quickly lol.

They sell the gas cooker thing in truckstops too. That thing will boil chili in 30 seconds flat. I carry a nonstick frying pan too. Cook your bacon, leave the fat in there, and throw in the eggs. Or carry a block of cheese and some bologna and some bread and butter. Grilled bologna and cheese sandwiches. A bit more cleanup, but it gives you a little more versatility.
I also carry a crock pot. Cut up a head of cabbage, put it in the crock, throw a couple chicken breasts in there and let it simmer overnight with a little salt and pepper.
But if you are on the run and want a hot meal with minimal effort and cleanup, you cant beat that black lunchbox. -
You really do need to work on your typing skills, lol.I'm kidding im forever editing my posts because few keys stick.Anyway have you thought about getting a George Foreman grill, heard it works real good.
