Why did someone just call me from there and say hey you're hired (paraphrasing) however there's a $100.00 charge for you to start?

what kind of crap is that? and then she said we pay .25 cents a mile... and offer you no tuition reimbursement.

i understand starting out in this industry that i woudln't make a lot of money to begin, i respect that. however, i refuse to work for pennies so that i lower the standards for all of you guys out there who have worked hard in this industry to make what money you make, for some idiot to come along and take whatever job they can at the lowest possible rate.

i'll keep looking for another trucking job, hopefully something better comes my way. and by better, hopefully i mean something with decent pay and wages with no startup cost. ridiculous.

    48Packard Thanks this.

Thing is it'd be nice to find a job, but i'm not doing it at the expense of ruining the chain of supply and demand - taking the job for pennies and then these companies just start paying everyone the same. i'm all set. i'd rather wait it out and get a job with fair pay. in the end, it benefits everyone.

These companies have been paying newbies pennies for years . Just don't wait too long . More than a few months out of school without experience and your training becomes invalid .

    srestrepo and 48Packard Thank this.

I think anyone is hired when it comes to CRE. They only tell you that you are fired once you show up for orientation in SLC.

Knight also has a training program through Squire. Schneider is good also. You made a good choice turning down CRE. Do some reaserch on ALL these companies. There will be one that will be a good fit for you.
