Charlotte just needs the revenue because of the exodus of white people. why do you think there is so much traffic up I77 in the evening anyway? that's all the white people who USED to live in Charlotte. they still work there, but don't want to live there any more. Charlotte has become an impoverish, crime infested sewer in the last few decades. but at least they have the distinction of being the first city with forced busing back in the 70s. they also have some of the worst schools in the state.

If 11 people were killed in semi-truck wrecks in that county, then 100+ were killed in regular car wrecks. Crack down on the morons in the 4 wheelers cutting in front of trucks that cause most of the wrecks in the first place

See, they aren't just picking on truckers. We want the roads to be safe out there. That includes both the truckers with safety violations and the fourwheelers driving like jerks. You have to admit that you know that there are unsafe trucks out there on the road that shouldn't be. -
Exactly, and the trucking industry needs to be able to unite and stop crap like this.

It's the same as Cally's situation. Politicos lower taxes somewhere, brag about those lower taxes, and then make up for the lost revenue by targeting the road users who are not empowered. Yes, this means they "go after the trucks."
At one time, the CDOT at Truckee had inspectors who were so corrupt they'd fiddle with slack adjusters on trucks and then fine the drivers of those trucks for having brakes that were out of adjustment. You better believe they don't hold truck drivers in high esteem. To law enforcement big wigs, a truck driver is a lower form of life that has a special section in the biology books.
It's hard for truck drivers to fight traffic violations, as putting up a fight means appearing in court in a lot of cases. Talk about an inconvienience. A truck driver from Arizona who must be in North Carolina on a certain day to fight a citation may find it too tough to pull off. The system knows this, and targets truck drivers. Not only this, but truck drivers are willing to put up with finger printing, invasions of privacy (read DAC), and don't bother to vote. Yes, being as truck drivers don't put up much resistance, they become the easy victims. It's no surprise these localities target truck drivers. It's as simple as that, ladies and gents. This is one of the big reaons I turned in my CDL. I got tired of rubbing shoulders with people who think rolling over and offering zero resistance is "just fine and dandy."
Let me take over as the leader of trucking today, and I'll pull about 75% of the trucks off the roads for two weeks beginning tomorrow morning bright and early. On day 15, negotiations would begin. Never again would trucks be seen as easy targets. Of course, if truck drivers could motivate themselves to do this two-week shutdown on their own without any leaders, I may get my CDL back. I'd be proud to be a truck driver among such fine people. People who put their collective foot down against abuse like what is going on in Cally and North Carolina along I-77.
