Started out great w/ CRST. Many promises, many miles with our first dispatcher.
Then he quit. Giving us a spectacular load as a good-bye present.
Now all we do is sit. Wait for pay because the "computer doesn't have the rate" and sit some more.
We sign a rate sheet when we take a load as a lease operator - why wouldn't the computer have it??????????
Presently sitting in MI for the 5th day. "Freight is slow". We've sat in every city between every load on average 2-5 days. This company either has no freight or has it in for IC's after they get to a certain point in truck payments. People told us that this would happen with CRST but the recruiters are really good at making you feel comfortable. And the bald face lies they tell at orientation are very believable.
Don't lease from CRST!!!!!!!! Biggest mistake of your life if you'd like to eat or support your family.

I've talked to company drivers who aren't any happier.

Looked at my pay today. Withheld again because "computer doesn't have the rate". Now I'm 2400 in debt.

I have a better odds winning the lottery than to have my deficit hang at $900 each and every week.:biggrin_2557::biggrin_2551::biggrin_2555:

Lease purchase programs are nothing but a rip off.

CRST and US Express owe a friend of mine about $5000 (US Express owes the bigger part). CRST has been lying over and over to my friend about paying him back. US Express finally did, but not after my friend hired a lawyer, whom US is ordered to pay for too. My friend now is a State Trooper in NC and please, don't be surprised when you're sitting in a CRST or US Express truck and get pulled over by a State Trooper for nothing. My friend swore he will give both companies hell as long as either of them owes him money. He won't mess much with you drivers, but he will take the equipment apart if he has to, to mess with the companies. So, don't take it personal and if you don't wanna get stopped and have your truck stripped, avoid NC and especially I-95 and I-40, Hwy 87 and surrounding highways. Sorry, but after 3 years of running after his money, he just had enough.

Wow, what a way to trash a driver for nothing. Tell your friend to retire.

Why is it that with all the information out there concerning LP somehow driver after driver feels they are different and they can make it work? There are a few, I mean a few that somehow manage to see that ever elusive light at the end of the tunnel. The rest end up here crying about the big bad companies and the way the "tricked them", "fooled them", "cheated them" out of their just rewards.

GROW UP and own that you screwed up. Own it , learn from it and move on.

seems like a conflict of interest for an officer to enforce a personal vendetta such as this

As I said...he won't mess with your log, license or any other personal stuff (unless of course he got you for speeding). He wants to get the companies as hard as possible. Shoot, he mostly doesn't even write the drivers up for equipment failure, but the companies. If you guys don't wanna deal with a disgruntled State Trooper, tell your company not to mess with one. I don't blame him a bit. He tried it in a civil manner but got laughed at and peed off too many times by those 2 companies. I'm gonna meet him in a couple hours and will let him read what you wrote. Believe me, he's a super nice guy, and one of the last who will mess with you personally.

So holding up the drivers time for no reason is harmless?

The company will still come down on the driver for equipment issues

A personal vendetta against companies who screwed him first. He's got all rights to do so, since he also knows what equipments they are giving to drivers. He doesn't have a personal vendetta against the drivers of said companies and will leave them pretty much alone, unless you got popped speeding (but even then, he will give you 10 miles over the posted limit before he even looks at you). You need to be glad it wasn't me who got screwed and is a State Trooper....I would make sure none of CRSTs or US Express' trucks and trailers are coming into NC on any point of entrance without being ripped apart first. Stop whining, you'll be okay.
