The way I read it, the points go to the company, not the driver.

The one thing I see is many don't know 100% what's going on. You pass a new law you should be firm and let everyone know. This is one thing the gov't has failed to do. The limited info available, you have to pay for. That ain't right.
Seems like the FMSCA has a general idea what they want to implement but aren't sure how to get there.

I guess we have to wait for a couple more months. I know they are building websites.
From what I read you can find your points in the pre-hire process. Companies don't inherit points when they hire a driver. All the data is collected from inspections and crashes only. So if you get a straight speeding ticket, I'm under the assumption it just goes on your MVR. FMSCA won't be suspending licenses. That's up to individual states. Most drivers will have to worry about being fired when they get an out of service.

The whole purpose of CSA 2010 is to get companies to hire and maintain better drivers and keep their equipment up.
I found a dataQ website that a driver can challenge inspections.

What I understand is when this gets up and running, that drivers will be compared to other drivers. As far as being unfit to drive FMCSA won't make that call. The carriers will weed out drivers with high points because the drivers that get points also affect that carrier. Rumor has it that some carriers are thinning the herd now.

Not true. If you go back a few pages on this thread you will find a link that tells you how many points a driver will get on each infraction on a Inspection or crash report.

    Brickman Thanks this.

that still is not determined as of yet..........but as i have mentioned a few times before, any driver with infractions 12 months prior to the CSA becoming online, all points a driver received will be doubled...then all points will stay on the driver for 36 months. points for a company, stay on the company for 24 months. AND a driver carries his points with him to any place else he goes.

go to the link i provided earlier in this thread. you will see an "Y" for driver points or a company. "Y" of course meaning YES.........
