Yes on the HT3B and manifold if you already have the engine. Swapping colors always has problems if you do not have the whole truck.

I can do that? Cool….
Anything special I need to know when ordering or do I tell them I’m doing a CPL695 on a CPL160 engine? -
Both of them?
-
Are both my turbos HT3B?
Is there a way to tell?
Is that a good turbo or do I need to upgrade? -
Also I’d like to have data plates for both engines
Anyone have an idea on how I get that done? -
Just curious how much you paid for those engines
OLDSKOOLERnWV Thanks this. -
It can be done, but…. there’s more to it than just a rebuild kit.
You have to know if the camshaft is interchangeable, if not you have to buy a cam. About $1500+ at Cummins.
What is the timing code for the injectors? If the cams are the same but code is different then the cam has to come out and change the cam key. Do you advance or retard the injector timing?
Once that is all taken care of, then you have to finalize the injector timing by finding the proper thickness gaskets behind the cam followers. Takes special tools for that, expensive special tools. My Cummins tool was $1200.
If it were me…. I’d look at freshening up what you bought to factory specs, get the pump and injectors set up to match, and roll with it. A good 350 can be pretty impressive.
Learn from it, then if you want to do something different do it with the old engine.
Your truck have a Pyrometer in it? If not you need to install one if you sweeten up the pump and injectors. Read the Pyrometer on the hard pulls it will give you an idea when to downshift and keep from lugging the engine and wiping out a piston …..BoxCarKidd, Binderdavemays1 and Diesel Dave Thank this. -
So the small cam that was in the truck the 1976, 350 I gave about two grand for the whole truck. I traded a motorcycle for it that’s all I had in it and then this engine I just got last weekend is a 77 NTC 350.
It was running in the Ford 9000 sounded strong. No issues I gave two grand.Diesel Dave Thanks this. -
I have a 79 KW K100 with a BC1 CPL 369. Had the pump and injectors matched like has been mentioned already above and had also the pulse exhaust manifold installed with the Holset HT3b if I recall. Ran excellent. Only parked it when I bought a 94 Pete 379, sold that due to Commiefornia CARB, and now running 2014 Pete complaint truck. Still have the K100, all complete, I didn’t want to part away from it(attached to it, drove it for 24 years) but the other half has been complaining lately to get rid of it.
BoxCarKidd and OLDSKOOLERnWV Thank this. -
my wife hates my cab over lol
In 23 a kid pulled in front of me on my other motorcycle and broke my back and pelvis and a list of other injuries.
No money barely insured etc
She told me I don’t care what you get but get rid of motorcycles
She went with me on the trade for the cab over and was fine
But it’s my mistress now she hates it lol
I’ve been with her 30 years a good woman for sure, but she will leave before the cab over does
