Cummins X15 need help

    Hi Everyone,

    I have a 2020 kw t680 with 184k miles with the following codes. truck will derate.

    1142-Injector solenoid driver cylinder 3
    1656- Engine misfire cylinder 3
    5897-engine misfire cylinder 3

    it is currently in the shop for 6 days and they can't diagnose the issue just yet. Any idea what I can do? thinking of taking it to another shop.

    First thing first! make a Cummins QuickServe Online account and add your ESN in then go to fault code search and put all 3 codes in. It will tell you what code to start with. More then likely code 1142 is the one causing all the other ones. Could be a bad injector to a bad return line to a bad wiring harness.

    We checked the injector and harness and they’re good. So it’s giving us a head scratching moment lol.

    If its a dealer they should be following the 4 steps in the repair tree.
