Is there a location online somewhere I can find current average freight rates for a specific commodity?
I’ve spent hours googling and have yet to discover the average cost of transporting bulk rock salt per ton lol

Agreed and being in the Midwest, Detroit actually still has a functioning salt mine directly underneath it.

Lots of salt used in food processing.

Quit looking per ton and start looking per mile? Or are you looking for local bulk hauling?
Give us pickup and delivery cities and we’ll get you close for shipping in a dry van at least. -
What you do is call a carrier and act like a customer that need freights transported, tell them commodity and pick up and delivery point. Be prepared to come up with a company name and addresses. Try even calling a broker(s)…… keep us up to date on your out come.
77fib77, 401-Alex and ProfessionalNoticer Thank this. -
I wouldn’t. If ya want bottom of the barrel rates go to Minneapolis
-
Why do you care what the rate is?Midwest Trucker Thanks this.
