Heard a rumor today, that the Federal Gov't wants each state to be doing more inspections during the night and early morning hours. Does anybody know if there is any truth to that?

Guess we'll find out together but that does not seem terribly logical given the nature of trying to perform quality inspections "in the dark". Maybe they will focus then on insurance, logs, paperwork, licenses, lights, etc? And the states with the full service barns could certainly get in on that night time routine. Who knows but I'd be "extra ready" anytime of the day/night this week.

Every year at the same time, and they let us know before hand.
This year they are focusing more on hazmat loads because those violations have been on the rise.

If you are afraid because you are not legal, take the next few days off.

a few small comments (1) make sure you dont have alot of junk in your jump box if your fire extinguisher is located there, makes for a easy ticket fire extinguisher not easily reached. (2) try and clean up your permit book get rid of all the old permits the dot man is not going to be very happey waiting while you are looking for something. (3) just remember dot inspectors love to see you walking away with some type of paper in your hand for some minor violation they dreamed up. be safe out there

And make sure you have plenty of DEF. You don't want them writing you up for an inop defroster.

And for God's sake CLEAN UP those nasty, cluttered dashboards that has stuff (junk) from one side clear to the other that was placed there circa 2009, along with enough dust to raise soybeans
