I'm not sure if I have a problem or not so here goes. My 2007 Volvo VNL 465 hp looks like it's running hot. Lately it has been in the 90's here and I haul Heavy ( around 100K#). Alot of what I do is city traffic and the stop and go really heats up the water temp gauge. It will hover just under 210. When I'm pulling hard it will go up and hang on 210 but drop back to 205? It's hard to tell. Cooling fan is electric and is not giving me any codes. But I don't really hear it either. It's not noisy like the air operated ones are. All else seems normal. No alarms or shutdown lights. Could this be right? Truck will cool to under 200 while crusing even with the heavy weight while at highway speed. Don't know how old antifreeze is or what type it is but is at least 2 years old. Truck was hit in front before I bought it.

Anything here I should check for? Coolant bottle on right side is full. Left one looks empty. Don't know if that makes a difference.

Have the same engine with 10 speed tranny, I know my oil temp goes up to 220, normal working temp is 200-210..

I dont remember exactly how it looks with colant temperature but fan turns on pretty frequently in the city

and as far as I rem normal working temp was a little over 170, fan turns on right a little before the next scale on the gauge which is 210 I think

and I pul 49k city loads

    hope it helps

I think you're truck is running perfectly fine with the stop and go of course you're always going to see a little bit of a higher temp but a long as it doesn't go over 210 don't mess with it you're just going to blow money for nothing.
