So DAC is and can be used for good and bad. I will try and explain to you all the difference between reports they have on every driver. The have 6 repots they hold on every driver. It's depends on the company which one is pulled. The mega carriers all pull the 6 reports. I found that the smaller ones only pull 2 or 3 of them.. so the 1st I want to go over is the DAC employment record. It has almost any employers you worked for driving for the past 10 years or so. This is the report that most people have issues with and it is not vetted at all. I think most of us older guys know a few ppl that this report has been a career ending.. the 2nd report is called a CDLR. It's basically just a report of any CDL you have Heald in your life. The 3rd is a criminal report and that is self explanatory. Sometimes they will have an arrest on it that had no conviction. The 4th is the psp report. I don't care if you file a foia to the feds and they say no record found it's a lie.. every CDL holder has a report. 5th is you report from the state DMV that goes back almost your whole time you have Heald a driver license. It shows everything guys.. the 6th is your credit report. We all know what they are.. point of my post is to get some miss information cleard up. Your DAC reports have a 10 year span for the most part. The bad can't be showed in your employment DAC after 7 it just goes to a general overview. I am sure I left some out but I will update as we discuss

DAC is not the end all be all. It is easily weaponized against a driver for good and bad reasons.
There is also Black listing which varies by state. And other databases availible to screen out bad drivers.Davidajhamlin1983 Thanks this. -

DAC is no longer DAC. It became USIS which became HireRight. HireRight is a background investigative firm that provides a service to many industries, not just trucking. They fall under the same guidelines as Equifax, Transunion and Exprerian, the 3 major credit reporting agencies. Every company has the right to know who they are hiring and since many cannot or do not have the resources to check every potential employees background, they use an agency that provides that service.
As I have stated in this forum on numerous occasions, HireRight is NOT infallible. Sometimes they make erroneous entries on a persons transcript. That’s partially what one of the class action lawsuits against them was about. (Arbitrarily making entries without verifying the information) HireRight uses disclaimers now to absolve them from blame in the event you find something that shouldn’t be on there. Just like your credit, you have a right to one free transcript from HireRight. That includes the 20/20 criminal background information, and Past employer information. PSP and MVR information must be purchased separately from those respective agencies.
Recently, OOIDA was in the process of a class action lawsuit against the DOT or FMCSR. They cited PSP scores were inflated on drivers records by making entries that had nothing to do with roadside inspections. For example being overweight would wind up counting against you on the PSP. OOIDA argued that only the results of inspections and crash data are allowed on a PSP transcript.Last edited: Sep 14, 2018
