This review is spot on....I loved Danny Herman and still do.... But they left me... I told them I was leaving and then a month later in January '20 I told them again and then drove another 4000 miles for them... The driver recruiter said absolutely no micromanagement .... and there wasn't until they installed the first camera 2 weeks after i was there. I was still very happy with them until December. When they announced the new lane deviation cameras, but most Importantly the fuel routing solutions...that was it for me...they were getting rid of the veteran drivers and the veteran teams.... and setting themselves up to be a training company for a Mega....

It's just very sad to see something so special get flushed downed the tubes seems like they sold out all the drivers that put them on the map.

Truly sad to see what it has turned into. It was once a pretty good company to drive for. Glad that I am well past my 2 year mark of being behind the wheel.

If you think back the owner decided to step down and become more or less a glorified sales rep and he put his buddy in charge. That's when the Avalanche hit and it's been a constant cascade of train wreck changed and now they have a company that everyone hates and wants out of.

It has gotten to the point where they will hire anyone that has a CDL, and a warm body. I feel very sorry for the people that go there , and have to do 300 hours on the drive line with a trainer. I can't imagine how anyone can even make any money at what they pay during that time.

Let's not forget Team Coddling too. They tend to use the solo driver to go sit at a dock for a live load only to have to swap loads with a team truck so the team can run the miles out of the load. Totally unacceptable in my book.

Some of the DMs prefer solos to not be allowed to have a 34 hour reset. They want them to run recap hours so they can control them.

Unfortunately, this the way most mega end up, some will have the driver go off duty at a dock to save time knowing full well that's unacceptable. When the driver put up with such conditions it becomes the norm for the rest of the drivers and so they have been broken in no different than a horse.

That's just it. DHT isn't a mega. They have around 440 power units. Their pay is well below the national average as well. They might as well be just like some of the other bottom feeding carriers as that is where they are going.

Never said they were I said that's where all mega end up eventually it lives long enough will become Mega.
They clearly cant hold drivers they have below CPM and their shippers you won't see another dime even Swift will pay do better this I was always paid after 2 hours 95% time dropped and hook then again I had a great DM who was a former driver. You are correct they are a bottom feeder they remind me of Stevens Transport years ago when I was with them back in 2014.

My guess they will be hiring bigger groups dumb young and inexperienced drivers or people who don't have CDL have them get CDL through them give them a minimal time behind wheel and unleash them on the other drivers in hopes they deliver loads safely which is what Swift does. Maybe they will hold the next title worst company of drivers would be hard to beat Swift or JB Hunt with them having so many more drivers. I am glad my real training never came from some of these company trainer drivers but relatives who were drivers actually gave a crap.

Every thing you said is pretty much true. Just sad of what they use to be and what they have become.
