So, it’s my second day of working for Sysco. My right knees a little cranky but it’s not bad. 2AM start time which unusually isn’t too bad of thing either. It is however getting rather cold in Michigan nowadays.

Needless to say I’m spending this morning researching ABF, FXF and UPS local driving jobs. It seems they all would prefer you to have almost pretty much all endorsements, which I do besides Hazmat but that’s coming in the next week or so.

Any opinions on those companies or info would be great. Or personal experiences. Thanks.

Haven't worked for them but before I got my CDL I worked at a warehouse and the only happy one who said he loved his job was ABF. He did LTL. Also UPS freight is now tforce, and I have heard they are doing great things with the freight division. Chinese company I beleive. Correct me if I'm wrong

ain't gonna look good leaving a company so soon.

it's going to be winter, no matter who you go work for.

best stay there, get at least 6 months experience, since winter is upon us, and then look for something else in the spring time?

It’s T-Force from what I came across. Thanks for the info. I hear nothing but good of ABF.

yeah I know. I’ll probably just brave the winter do a good 6-9 and check back in with ABF etc if they don’t get backS YRC even.

Your Lucky. When I started out in 1992, their were a few more Teamster outfits around. All are gone, except ABF. YRC is hanging by a thread. Laid off members with more seniority quickly filled any available jobs. Had I been able to get into ABF, Holland, Riadway, or Yellow. I’d be retired now. No one knew who’d be left if any by now. Detroit was a tight market for LTL jobs. Only jobs available were in Chicago. You need to get on the inter web and find out about all of them. Chrysler has their own website now. Used to go through MESC only. Sometimes you can get hired at Chrysler’s then get trained to Drive there. That’s a great job. My Dad worked there in the 70s They have about 600+ Drivers
