I'm considering trading trucks next year to a day cab and was looking at some Casscadia's in the 2012-2013 year range. I'm going to be pulling tanker, so I'll be using the pump/air compressor off a pto. How are these motors for high idle operations? I was also looking at older Columbia's with a series 60 since they don't have any filters to clog up and they're cheaper/easier to fix.

i can say that the high idle time, and with local work over time can cause DPF problems. i can say for sure the older trucks would be cheaper an easier to fix, and also easier to work on, but also easier to take it to a cheaper shop an get work done with out having to go the dealer. no need in have DPfs and such with the headache if your not going to California.
