For 200 miles I would of found a secure spot to leave the truck and rent a car home, or just waited until Monday, hard to get people to answer on weekends unfortunately but would of been less haste and you could of negotiated layover/return before wasting time/fuel doing it, part of the reason I park my truck weekends unless I’m doing something local
kay_ray Thanks this. -
It was a kind of a local run .i dont think i will ever hold a load for 2 days if its not my mistake. My business is not charity . And waiting was not an option anyway while i got no reply from broker and they were in the office when i was emailing.

this is family dollar DC right ? Not a retail store. Anyway, this is trucking, screw-ups happen. A simple phone call to the receiver would have made life simiplier.
-
Yes sir dc . I should ve called before i left the shipper .
-
Usually those DC’s are open 24/7. It would have been safe to assume that you could deliver IMO.
-
And you still have no reply, with a load in the trailer, and 200 extra miles on the truck now…
2 business days is one thing, weekend is different due to getting ahold of peoplekay_ray Thanks this. -
I go a family dollar DC pretty often but I'd never do a store load.
Had something similar happen OP. Load delivering 175 miles from the yard, I get up there and they say it was supposed to deliver yesterday and no spots open til Monday, this was on a Friday. If they would of took it the next day I would of camped out there but not all weekend. This was a smaller broker we work with all the time. They ate it and paid the same rate again to drag it back up.
