This is back int he early 90's time period. Flatbed was several loads a day 14 to 16 hour days starting at exactly 2 am do your papers start the tractor at exactly 20 to 3 am, be rolling at exactly 3:01 I guess it was in those dollars about 560 a week plus up to 70 dollar bonus tripmaster if you shut engine off at every moment while stopped for any reason against idle regardless of weather. Today's money is inflated so you will need to make 1200 plus to feel good about that particular work.

Regional south was the same money with two important details. One no commuting to the yard at 2 am, you have a sleeper. And the other is 55 mph only. Automatic firing once they see 70. No ifs buts or maybes. The work was so easy, slam doors when loaded. Ease to the next place. Get going yer late already.

PRoblems begin when you are up all day waiting to load. Then have to be two states away by morning on paper logs in those days. HOS is not a defense to be fired for being late. So I quit it. Too #### slow and the earnings were the same. My roommate did not handle home living very well in those days either so that was that.

All of what I wrote is ancient history. I have no reason to think they are any different today.
