I've had dozens of deer just waiting alongside the road to run out in front of me. By the grace of God none have attempted to become hood ornaments.
If I spot Bambi early enough, I will sound my horn and she'll have second thoughts about crossing. Then I flash my lights at oncoming traffic to alert them of potential danger.

I have a really loose winch at the very rear of my 53' and I think it scares them when it rattles. I can see them look up before I get there 90% of the time.

I've almost hit deer with yard goat when I was spotting last year. They were spooked by the July 4th fireworks and came running into the yard at night lol.
I did hit one in a semi. It was just a doe and went under. It was winter conditions and I wasn't going to mess with swerving or brakes.D.Tibbitt, rolloverdude and Rideandrepair Thank this. -
