Which is perfectly legal under CARB overbearing environmental regulations for a long time to come.

Um I can confirm the fact that yes the 14 engines do use more DEF. MUCH more in fact. I'm in a brand new 14 pete 587 with the cummins ISX 300 gallan diesel capacity with an 18 gallon DEF tank and the needle on the DEF gauge drops almost in perfect sync with the diesel gauge. My average fuel stop is 200 gallons of diesel and 9 to 10 gallons of DEF.

 

That's a lot larger DEF tank on yours, also.
I believe most DEF tanks have been in the 12 gallon range. At least, all the ones I have seen.

 

You may have a 2014 truck, but the engine is very likely a 2012 or 2013. I have a December 2012 cummins ISX in my 2014 Pete 386. You can find it on the engine info plate.

I filled my DEF this morning and put in 16 gallons for 2800 miles of running.
