Good point Bigblue19, if his employer prevented him from seeking medical care on February 20th when he first started to feel ill, the trucking company could be liable for his illness progressing into a full blown stroke. Snohawk would probably need to access Qualcomm records to prove case.

Big Blue is right, the company had an obligation to public safety as well as the driver to have him checked out before allowing him back on the road if he was complaining of severe headaches. I got a close friend of mine a job driving at the same company I was at about 6 years ago, he kept falling asleep in his truck and having headaches. After a three days the company said go to one of the clinics the company has an account with and get checked out, we aren't letting you back in the truck until you do. He got checked out that day and was diagnosed with terminal brain cancer that took his life just six months later. The point is, what this company did was not only grossly negligent to the driver but the general public at large. I would call the state's attorney for whatever state you live in as well as a lawyer, any lawyer would probably do on a case this serious.

Yeah, that. Call a lawyer...hell, call two or three.

I'd be inclined to file a police report about the missing property. You may have a homeowner's claim there if nothing else, and maybe have the opportunity to be at least an inconvenience to the company that #### on you so effectively.
I'd talk to a lawyer about that, too. Depending on how they do that, in some states that can be treated like larceny of a vehicle. You really, really need to consult a real live attorney (or two or three) to clarify any potential civil or criminal liability that you or your (former?) employer may have incurred. -
for you that don't know( in my case i had blood clots in my legs that went to my lungs) and i was told by doctors that clotting in the legs that can break off and go to your heart , lungs, or brain is common in truck drivers because of long periods of sitting and inactivity especially if you are a smoker (i don't smoke and it happened to me 2 1/2 weeks ago and spent 2 weeks in the hospital).........

bigblue19 Thanks this. -
I used to drive so long that when I would get out of the truck I could hardly walk, let alone in a strait line. I used to see how far I could drive without stopping the truck. But with age comes wisdom and after I saw what happened to the news reporter for NBC back in 03 in Iraq. It woke me up to the dangers. And now I take regular breaks just to walk around and I keep hydrated.

Time is of the most importance when your having a stroke. I think the fact that the company would not call him an ambulance when one was requested is a BIG problem for them. They have some amazing new drugs that can give a full recovery from a stroke if you get there in time. I'd definetly get an attorney!
Good luck to you!Baack Thanks this.
