I had 2 Great and I mean Great ones at my last company one was my First one there I was the only Driver going solo that week in the REgoinal fllet she went how do you like to run I went run me til I scream then run me some more. Big mistakle First week out of hte box 4200 Paid next week I was at 3500 Piad then she got me on a 3500 mile a week W Chicago to IIRC Gatinburg TN over to Memphis back to W Chicago loop. Was doing 3 a week. Was getting ready for the load to W Chicago back with Coors when the Qcom screamed I had to relay another drivers load to Roswell NM. I was like Cool. From there bounced to Denver over then back to Dallas then had to relay another load drier could not scale this one out to heavy. I took it to Mesquite NV then grabbed Grapes out of Bakersfield for Birmingham then Cagles to the yard then home.

Then she left the company got one that was not worth the air he breathed. Finally got put into Long haul and got Lana and told her I like to run. if I did less than 3500 miles a week with her it was a bad week it seemed.

Mine left because she wanted to be closer to her son that lived in Indiana and so that is why she left. Lana left when she had another baby and became a Stay at home mother again.

Tell you the truth I never had what I would call a bad dispatcher. Had several I had to educate and teach but other than that they were pretty good. Had one young fella that started dispatching me and I had told him "you lie to me, I'll lie to you". Had a load come up that was "crap". PITN shipper and a hellion for a receiver. Told him I wasn't interested. Guess he wanted to test me, sooo here's comes the sob story about I was closest, load had to go, blah blah blah. Interrupted him and said I got a problem, here, I think I just had an airline break. I'll call you back. Called back. Yep, got a busted airline fitting. Better get different truck to get that load. Long story short, I went empty back to the yard. He said there was no broken fitting right. I said right. Last time I had a problem with him. He's Operations Manager for the company now. Good kid.

I have worked with the same dispatcher for over a year now. He keeps me running and does his best to get me home when I need to. The night and week end dispatchers have also been great. I try to treat them honestly and with little complaint. I take all loads unless I do not think I can make the schedule and even then, I notify them in advance of the issue. Sometimes I still take the load but relay it prior to delivery. I may get two or three short dispatches during the week, but my miles stay about 3000 to 3800 a week. I may not talk with my dispatcher for several days in a row if the loads work out as dispatched. I just send my Qualcomm messages on loaded and empty calls and Transflo my BOLS. I like the autonomy of being able to work for a week or so without any hassles by anyone.

when I started I had a great dispatcher. He had been there a few years but changed to the weekend overnight shift so he could spend more time with his kids. He could be an ### at times, but in the end it was all in my benefit.

Now I have a former driver and it just seems he isn't hitting the learning curve as fast as he needs to. I just don't know what to do with him. He's great to chat with, but putting him in charge of loads is just kinda iffy.

I've had good ...I've had not so good......but luckily they all communicated fairly well so things were not horrendous to the point of driving my truck into the dispatch office

people are people some good some bad...I've learned how to deal fairly well myself, and I'm sure dispatchers have said the same things about us drivers too
