As in show business, timing is everything.
Ya reckon.
BTW, now that the question you've asked is being answered, what's your take on the subject?
This site is a great place to ask and/or receive answers, and, if it has a fault it could only be that this site is so large. It's hard to read and reply to every post we'd like to, so I hope you understand that, if, your original question wasn't answered, I doubt it's because it wasn't a good question --- as this thread has proven.
Does anyone on this board....

A broke drivvvaaa!!!

I came into this industry hoping to make a carreer out of doing the things I love. Driving, working alone(for the most part), independance, traveling, and staying busy. Ive only been doing this for about 6 months and am greatly satisfied with my choice to drive a truck. Ive had alot of good days and just a few bad days. Every time I get frustrated and wonder why I chose this path, I just tell myself "What would I be doing if I werent driving a truck and would I be happy doing it?" That puts it all back into perspective for me. Also, as was mentioned by a previous post, I do take pride in the fact that I am contributing to the service of this country.

Well aftershock,
I do enjoy the job of driving even to the point of loving it. I have only been doing otr for a short while compared to others and compared to the driving I used to do with dumps. I am getting just about everything I expeced. IE; seeing the country, going places that I would not have other wise and some level of independence.
The reason I say above to the point of loving it and some level of independence is because I currently am a trainer and I have to deal with another person, a new one every month. Aside from that aspect I still love the experience of driving.
I recognize this job/lifestyle is not for everyone, The reason I say is because of the people who I talk to that have jumped into the industry listening to recruiters and in need of a job who find out very quickly, their is NO GOLD AT THE END OF THE RAINBOW....................HAHAHAHAHA
But this is too much digressing........................

Small world!
I was a driver trainer for a few years also. And, like you, enjoyed it.
Being unmarried, I was assigned mostly female NewBees, and learned to see things from a much different perspective. In fact, I bet I learned as much from my trainees as they learned from me.
I'd accept another trainer position in a heartbeat, -- on a purely professional basis, of course.
The only thing I'm lookin' to hook-up to or with is a semi-trailer.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA..............................

Just want to point out that lot lizzards are professionals, too. Strictly speaking.
-
Ever wonder who trained THEM?
-
No, but for some reason, I think you may have wondered?
