First and foremost, what's the age requirement for Roehl, because I can't seem to find it, I'm 21.

Now, I graduated trucking school back in June and received my license, but between my old job ( which wasn't a driving job ) and trying to land a local driving job, I wasted 7 months. I've seen advertisements by Roehl in my area ( Maryland ) and have been thinking about filling out an application for them. But would they offer me a job if I have no experience, and I've been out of trucking school for 7 months which isn't all that recent if you ask me?

Those are questions a recruiter would have to answer. Give them a call. Most likely they would send you through a week refresher, then out with a trainer, but since you don't have any experience, they may require more.

Ok fair enough, I just submitted an application for the NE regional van openings they had. I'll give them a call in the morning and find out about everything.

The answer is yes, they do hire with no experience (though as mentioned above, if you're not a recent CDL grad they may have you go through more of a refresher than their typical Orientation program which is 8 days).

I went to their CDL school a year ago, graduated and started driving solo with them in mid-March 2013, with no prior trucking experience. I'm grateful that they're willing to give people like me a shot at the trucking biz, and I've done my best to not have them regret it. :)

Wow nice. I'm looking forward to speaking with a recruiter tomorrow morning. I'm still curious about they're age requirement, they sound to good to be true for a company that accepts 21 year olds.

Well I just got off the phone with them, my application was denied because my driving school graduation date was more than 90 days ago. Oh well :biggrin_25511:

I'm sure some of that has to do with your age as well. Keep calling other companies. Even if you have to start somewhere else for a couple years, you can always give Roehl another try when you get a bit older and you'll have some experience.

Yeah I know. I just got a call from US Xpress. They're going to set me up for an orientation this Monday the 10th in Shippensburg PA depending on how my driving record and background check come back. Which is no problem for me, both are squeaky clean.
