Been reading the forums and the most obviously flaw with this company is clearly their ambient sensors. What a joke, but it is what it is.
With that said, as I've been reading there isn't any work arounds with this sensor, does the company allow tent heaters in their trucks?
I've been looking as something like this:
http://www.campingcomfortably.com/coleman-golfcat-propane-catalytic-heater.html
These heaters work extremely well in a confined space, do not require much gas to quickly heat up your cab.
Does Schneider allow tent heaters?

I don't work for them I'm almost 100% this will be a no go
-
The FMCSA does not allow them.
(6) Portable heaters. Portable heaters shall not be used in any space occupied by persons except the cargo space of motor vehicles which are being loaded or unloaded.

Figures the FMCSA would ban them.
No surprise here. Thanks for that Roadmedic. -
watch out for carbon monoxide..
-
i don't se how they can ban an electric heater. since some of you use some type of stove anyways that uses as much energy.
but anything else. let's think about the fumes that will fill your cab up.pattyj Thanks this. -
I like that heater, sneak it onboard,I won't say anything, lol.I'm kidding, better not.You may run into someone that may catch you and get you in trouble. If those are banned then howcome the George Foreman grill isn't banned.I mean yes ppl grill outside but who says every trucker does that.
-
I know a guy that got caught with it in the truck and Minnesota gave him a ticket for it.
Personally, I see nothing wrong with having it for an emergency. My truck died right at a dealer one cold night. It would not start and it was below 20. I had managed to keep it running for 3 miles from a cold start. No motel around.
Bought one and keep it available for a possible rerun. -
I don't see anything wrong with it either. The law and companies don't want truckers to have anything to make it more comfortable for them.

Could get this by them easy enough.
Carry a small tent and say that is where you use it.
