The use of Log Book Software.. If so is it restricted to a specific one. I have looked at Eclipse and DDL, as well as IDDL. I think I like the simplicity of Eclipse but also like the ability to look at all the different reports that DDL offers, since I might some day buy my own truck and I will be able to track more information with DDL.

Any suggestions or preferences from this thread?

    Thanks in Advance

You can use whatever software you want, still have to complete AND submit a paperlog.

yep. but really doing logs is not as bad or complicated as it seems when you are first learning. i thought about using software but its so easy i dont see the point if you have to do both anyway.

what^ ^^^^ he said, I thought the same thing, I decided I would do the pqperlogs till I got used to it, I am to dang tired at night to do much more then to properly place my head on my pillow and sleep, to do any additional stuff... if I was. You I would just do what is required till you learn the ropes. TD24

I just called Roxy and she transferred me to a supervisor and they said basically what Axe said... I mentioned that Eclipse allows the input of custom forms so that you can use forms that the company requires and he stated that he didn't know anything about it. Anyways I don't like redundancy so I will not bother with using software as long as I feel confident in my abilities to keep a book. I have done it before so it shouldn't be a real big deal. I am just a bit of a techy and I keep a lot better records on my computer/laptop, so I was hoping to be able to get set up that way.

    Thanks for the info

When I was there I talked to Macon Turner (safety mgr) about using a digital template from Eclipse that matched W/S logbooks, and was told they would only accept the paper logs from their books.

Then why would Eclipse have a W/S log template?
