OK rookies and other drivers,,when an other truck passes you and you want to signal him that it is ok to return to the lane in front of you the "PROPER SIGNAL" is to turn your head lights off and then back on,,"YOU DO NOT FLASH YOUR HIGH BEAMS" when you flash your high beams you blind the driver passing when the passing driver looks in his right mirror.. Flashing your high beams is a danger warning,,if you want to be a professional driver turn your head lights off then back on. Better to do nothing than to blind a driver with high breams or your brights .. A good driver does not need any help to know it is safe to change lanes,,Oh running with your driving lights on is the same as running with your high beams,,turn them off when oncoming traffic is approaching even on freeways,,

I'm glad you said that. So true. But I will add one. When pulling a long grade put flashers on when going under speed limit.
Mean Streak, macmanboomer and reefer75 Thank this. -
Isn't Calif illegal using flashers?
-
By now its probably illegal to pull a long grade there tofuzzeymateo, Lucar, Mean Streak and 1 other person Thank this.
-
In Florida it is legal to use your flashers ONLY if you are stopped. A ticket may be issued if using flashers while driving in a heavy rain, fog, slowing down, etc.
-
Anymore nothing surprises me.Its like they're hoping for an accident or to give out tickets for revenue and more money for the already rich.Try to do the right thing and its illegal.
-
only illegal if you can't do 40 or better. And no engines more than 400 horse ... we know those are the culprit for ruining the air
-
Wonder how many more states ban hazard lights.
-
I agree about the brights, their heart is in the right place but in reality it can be an accident waiting to happen. But lets not forget 4wheelers do the same thing.
99saleen87 Thanks this. -
I always dim my lights for the passing truck to get in my lane, that flashing the high beams is just rude, and it blinds people.
99saleen87 and X-Country Thank this.
