Drive it legal. Log it like you drive it. Then you don't have to worry about it. If your company actually prevents you from doing this, then find a different company.
Now before you jump on me with all the bull crap about "that's easy for you to say, you're retired etc etc etc" I can tell you that is the way I worked it. Sure, I screwed up sometimes. And yeah, once in a great while I would fudge the time a bit to make an appointment. But these were the exceptions not the rule.
And when I screwed up, it was accidental and I would take whatever lumps came my way. And when I was fudging the log, I knew what I was doing and what I was risking. I'll admit that I was lucky.
But I'll also say that I was a conscientious driver and did my best to keep it legal.
For the OP here, I have two hopes for you.
1) I do hope you come out of this OK, (unless you are a complete and total screw up, which I have no reason to believe you are.)
2) I hope this worries you enough that you wake up and realize that there is just no justification for fudging the logs on a regular basis.
