Gotcha. Well, really just a board and an impact. I carry a jack, impact and too many tools with me all the time. I guess I take it for granted.

Dot are no different than cops...99% of the time if you give respect you get it....
Dont be pullin in and get all tough know it all attitude cause then they got you..Be plesant and be as helpful as possible..If there is something wrong with your trk or trl then maybe you didnt see it or yet not been doin a pre trip...No excuses for worn tires and light out ect..Electronic logs well ya cant do much with them so chances are your safe there....
So bottom line,if you have done your job then a possible 30 min out of tour day shouldnt bother you..In my 23 yrs i have had only a cpl minor issues and i dont sit out the blitz..Its just another day of truckin.. -
I just got stopped for one here in Texas. They made sure to check everything. Got my yellow stickers and a nice "no violations discovered" to take back to the boss. There were quite a few trucks that were there before I got stopped and were still there after I left, and it took me an hour to be inspected.

I was done in Maine last week and passed all good. 2 stickers. I did a drop and hook and now have a trailer that needs an air tank so I'm sitting in Wilmington IL while they try to find one. Day 2....

How many drivers do you know that carry a jack, socket, breaker bar, and other tools that would be needed to remove the wheel and tire? Might be easier with stud-piloted wheels, because you can skip the jack and just use a block of wood...but how many trucks these days have those?otterinthewater, G13Tomcat and Tb0n3 Thank this.

I agree. The stud vs hub pilot issue didn't even cross my mind. I do know several OO, like myself that carry tools to handle such a job pretty easily. Admittedly, most do not though.otterinthewater Thanks this.

I do, too...20 ton bottle jack, 40" breaker bar, and a Nut Buddy, combined with the stud piloted wheels on my truck and it's not too difficult of a task. Hell, i've even pulled a steer off and moved a drive tire up there to get me to a tire shop rather than pay for the service call.
I've never actually met another driver with that ability, though.otterinthewater, Lepton1, G13Tomcat and 4 others Thank this. -
I would have done the same thing. I did a rotation in an Indiana rest area in the morning when I got up. I used my HF bottle jack, pry bar and and an IR battery powered impact. Mine are stud piloted so they're a pain. There were quite a few looks thrown my way. I guess we're a dying breed.jamespmack and skellr Thank this.

I came in late, so I was woken up after 3hrs of sleep. Lucky you were finished before I was able to put my pants on.
DSK333 Thanks this. -
