My company uses an F350 dually that has our DOT number on the side. My question is, can a non CDL holder drive that unit as long as there is not a trailer connected making it grater than the 26,001 combined weight?
I should add that I am in Texas

I believe a medical card is still required though.
OLDSKOOLERnWV Thanks this. -
If driven for commercial use the driver needs to do everything a cdl holder needs, except the cdl of course. And I believe drug testing, but double check that one.
If it's driven for personal use, nothing is required save explaining to an officer, if pulled over, it's personal. You might have luck on that, you might not.Bean Jr. Thanks this. -
Thank you all for the feedback. Much appreciated.
