We deal with the VA from time to time. What we have been doing is eliminating most of the interogation that we endure with simple yes or no answers. When the questions dig for a workaround from the doc we simply smile and tell him or her what part of the no answer to the previously asked question don't you understand?

We found that some of the notes sent by the VA Docs get into the hands of Mental Health on the other side of the Little Rock VA and they would like to have a chat. We say no thanks, we are doing well relatively speaking. Dont feel sad, don't shoot, don't think suicide none of that. no and no and no. Don't volunteer information.

We do not "Hate" the VA, but the more they evolve and try to make a problem where none exists or strictly private bedroom conversation that stays in our bedroom. The more we say no. Politely. No no and no. Not that either. Nope sorry. What would you like us to say, YES so you can type in all sorts of issues into those computer notes seen by the whole structure of the VA system? I think not. no. One simple word .No.

Unfortunately we had a friend within that system talk to us some time ago and they are beginning to finally understand that Vets who say no to everything asked generating very little or no notes other than no... may be viewed now as non compliant Patients who do not engage the provider in useful interaction.

The VA better watch it. They may find themselves without a Vet to take care of at all.
