I left being a chef for 12years to become a truck driver. Been with my first company for 5 months and was injured when I had freight fall our the back off the trailer. Been released to go to work now they say I can't come back and denying unemployment. Looking for a good flatbed company or nationwide OTR. If anyone could give the FNG a little direction I would be much obliged.

There is (or was) a Valley Transport in Ohio somewhere, ran covered wagons. Keep It Moving, from Toledo, not sure if they're company or O/O.

Valley Transportation is a steel hauler outfit running regional & home weekends. They're out of
Ashland, OH. Probably have to deal with those union steel mills which is a nightmare.

G13Tomcat and Bob Dobalina Thank this.

Hi Muda, well, 1st, I think that's pretty crummy of the company, and may be a blessing in disguise. 2nd, don't be bummed. Trucking jobs are at their highest levels in long time, and you should have no problem finding a job. Just curious, why did they say you can't come back?:dontknow:

You can make better money as a chef working in a fancy restaurant. A buddy of mine that's a chef in a casino out near Seattle makes three times what I make.

Valley was my 1st trucking job. You are correct about the nightmare mills. PI&I did the same deal. I saw them everywhere I went. Valley has nice trucks and trailers and very good training, but hauling steel sucks.

    G13Tomcat Thanks this.
