I apologize for the misunderstanding, my point is that there is no need for the DPF delete as it is not permitted by almost every IRP jurisdiction. Therefore, proper maintenance of the DPF can subside its finicky effects.

There's no need because it's not permitted??? Seriously?
Therefore bla bla bla really tell that to the drivers who have dropped 10' s of thousands of dollars trying to correct problems with a faulty system.

Please understand there are civil penalties for removing emissions technology from heavy duty vehicles. Comparing maintenance costs with the penalty repercussions would make most fleet owners understand it is impractical to delete emissions technology systems. Many dealerships may refuse to perform service work on warrantied trucks if they discover a DPF delete.

Mr Friday... I believe you are a company hack and really don't know the numbers so here is a hypothetical situation based on reality by the numbers ....most trucks that see a delete are out of warranty so that is not an issue .
    2. Cost of breakdown 10k pretty reasonable to assume and the loss in mph an additional 5k ayear ...pretty easy to have 2to 3 of those big emmissipns breakdowns within a year
    3. Cost of final repair 3 to 6k one time charge ....in this hypothetical situation based on reality you mpg goes back to 7.5 instead of 5.8 and over a three year period there are zero emmissipns breakdowns or expenses heck the delete was free
4.truck is getting premium rates because there is higher on time % ...not sure how to quantify that but hey Mr Friday if you like your dpf you are free to keep it i.m sure your shop loves you for it too

Your theory has merits BUT if the delete is done not 100% accurate..........
There are a lot off horror stories about bad deletes.

I agree 100% but you should have shops you trust to begin with that stand behind thier work not just Joe blow with a laptop

One of my friends that rolls with me at work offloaded his Mack after owning it almost 2 years. It was a used low mileage unit with no warranty. He spend 25 thousand dollars last year alone on repairs related to dpf and etc. truck still kept him on the side of the road. He was lucky enough to find a buyer and offload it. He went back to preemission pete with trusty cat motor like a good portion of us

That’s the issue. When there is an issue with emissions equipment, truck shops won’t even deal with it and you have to take to the dealer. I’m not condoning doing anything illegal but once all that crap is deleted, you never have to step foot into a dealer again. Any other work will be done at your local mechanic shop who most have a good relationship with
