I just drove for a couple of weeks with a sock over my driver-facing camera, and exactly as I expected, I heard nothing about it from the company. Why didn’t they yell at me or worse? Because it’s just like they said, they DON’T monitor me or anyone else, the camera, like the dash cam, is there to record accidents and incidents.

I’m glad I didn’t have any! Sock is off now.

You didn't get a call because they could still see everything through the other camera they didn't tell you about.

If more drivers would do this sock test, maybe companies would be more trustworthy. I put an argyle sock over mine and got a call from the company complaining about lint on the screen within 5 minutes. They asked me to use Bounce dryer sheets.

@Humblepie put a Debbie Gibson bandana over his and sang karaoke, but never got a call.

@snowman_w900 taped a pic of himself playing Words with Friends while driving and never heard anything until his truck was out of service for an overhead and he was on vacation. They wondered why he was in the truck still when they checked the cam.

XPO was good for cutting big notches in sun visors to allow camera view.

I put socks on my door handles at truck stops. That way my co driver knows I’m entertaining a young lady and he should hang in the drivers lounge for the night.

Well one night he barged in to the truck while I was tied up. I got super mad and asked him why he didn’t see the sock. To which he replied there was no sock. We almost came to blows. I told him I had camera footage of me putting the sock on the door.

So we reviewed the footage showing I did in fact put the sock on the door. But it also showed a hobo who came a long and stole it. He put it on his foot and walked off. So it wasn’t really his fault in the end. But if any of you find a hobo in Birmingham wearing one over the calf white sock. Please tell him he’s a son of a #####.

I drive in MI. The cameras go off just by driving down these bad roads.

It’s difficult to tell Swift drivers from hobos. Luckily I call them both sons of #####es most of the time.
