Interesting . If you have a TV , DVD's and magazines in the sleeper you are suspect ? Do they really expect you to spend the 8 hours logged in the sleeper sleeping ? Being unshaven isn't really an indication of anything . There have been times when taking the time to shower and shave right after my 10 hour break will put me in heavier traffic so I'll drive a few hours to get through traffic , then stop and clean up and have breakfast . There have also been times when the location I stopped at before running out of hours didn't have decent shower or restroom facilities so I'd stop someplace else after starting the next day .

How are they going to know if you sleep walk in your truck?????
-
Yeah, the Peoples Republic of Minnesota. Sadly, I have to deal with supidity like the posted checklist almost daily.

That list is totally bogus!

Are the items in each row equally weighted so that a certain number of X's is a fail or are things given points?
Why do they need to know the drivers height, weight, and neck size? Are they going to buy him a shirt for his birthday? Or will that data tell them how long he needs to sleep?
Some people are slobs so debris in the vehicle isn't going to tell you how long it's been since they last slept. Ditto having a dog, cat, bird or other animal in the cab. Is having clothing in the cab a plus or a negative?
What if, like my guy you have a condo sleeper but no longer team drive. He keeps his Play Station 2 on the top bunk and sleeps on the lower bunk. Does that count as debris on bed?
This list must have been made up by a bunch of idiots who never drove a truck before.

Turned my head to read the list...and fell asleep.

The height , weight , and neck size could indicate possibility of sleep apnea .GAPrincess Thanks this.

OMG... I need to flip out on this one.. If you have a CPAP for sleep apnea it is a possible evaluation point in a fatigue ratiing..

Complaining about money = yer tired.
Better shut down the government then!HwyPilot Thanks this. -
I can picture a well-rested driver yawning or bobbing by the time they get through that long list. And from the looks of it, you'd end up allowing them full access to your truck cab in order to gain all that info - something I'm not that fond of.
Wise advice my dad gave me along time ago, the truck cab is your home, and it's wise not to let anyone into it. As a new OTR driver in the near future, I'm studying my regs even harder.
