I understand the MN fatigue management analysis tool has been discussed at CVSA.

MN wanted it to become part of the out of service criteria nationwide. The reaction from others in CMV enforcement was not positive.

MN is out there alone using this type of information in placing drives OOS.

This is good to know. What is IL doing? I had heard that they were using some type of check list too. Do you have any information?

No thanks , OOIDA has a poor track record . Have you seen any changes with hot fuel , split sleeper , or fuel surcharges ? There is a way for driver's to make more effective individual comments . In the end the individual comments may make the difference but OOIDA will try to take the credit .

    ronrdrcr Thanks this.

Well this is true, but at least they are doing something. They have the voice of 100,000+ drivers behind them.
Either way, I think that they are at least trying on their part. I dont know, nor have I heard of hundreds of thousands or millions of other drivers who aren't OOIDA members who call in with complaints on those issues you mentioned above to the respective agencies.
Just because they fight something, doesn't mean they are going to win.
I mean, they are an association of drivers who have grouped together for their causes, in the trucking industry. If you think you can do better...?

You have it backwards . OOIDA doesn't have the voice of 100,000+ drivers behind them . 100,000+ drivers choose to have OOIDA be their one voice . OOIDA openly criticizes NHTSA , FMCSA , ATA , and others . You don't get cooperation by creating animosity . If those 100,000+ members bothered to contact officials rather than sit back and pay dues they'd get better results . Regulators probably figure most OOIDA members don't have a clue what's going on .

It doesn't Pete. I was being sarcastic. I wondered to myself how many indicators one would need to place someone OOS. I will keep my sarcasm to myself from now on.

Nahhh, I appreciated your sarcasm. It proves your human and understand both sides. I'm with you on this one, how many drivers will they leave sitting that should be driving and earning a living?? :biggrin_25511:
