What do you mean by "Greathearted"?
-
Did you mean grandfathered in? and once you get a Class A CDL it overrides your class C license and then you can drive Class C, B and A trucks with just one license
-
A cdl included a class c ... there is only one issued. For example.. mine has the endorsement such as doubles triple tankers ect ... and mc for motorcycle.. another state.. you'll have to work that one out
-
I guess you are talking getting your training out of state at an OTR company. You'll get a CDL in that state and then go home and transfer your CDL. You'll have to do the written test again but not the road test. States are familiar with these practices of out of state truck driver training.
You only carry one license. You surrender your class C when you get your class A. Class A covers everything except motorcycle and a bus which you can get them endorsements. Then there is doubles and triples, tanker and hazmat endorsements. -
Class b iwould be another test and training.. dont have that one myself
-
For example:
if you have Registered EMT cert in Arizona then California will grandfather you in and give you a cert so your registered in California ( dont know if it works the same with CDL's)
Edit:
sorry didn't catch that i mispelled it -
Thanks guys thats what i wanted to know............. as for the written do i have to do them all again brakes, haz-mat or just the main CDL test?
and do you have transfer your CDL to your home state( be nice the buy ar's with evil features
)

I moved to another state... in doing so I surrendered my current out of state cdl to the new state and was issued another cdl in the new state .. for a fee .. Each state is a bit different on changing over
-
Which means...
You need to check with the state you are living in as to what they require.
