Hey everyone, I start school at a local community college on June 7 and have a question I cant really seem to find. I have to go do my knowledge test and get my permit before class starts. My medical is scheduled for Tuesday. I cant seem to find out if I need the medical to get my permit, only when I get to the point of the road test. I know I need it to start school at the least. Its not very clear on the NCdot website . Calling them is impossible as you are met with a "your call is very important, BLAH BLAH BLAH , please call back at another time" Im asking because its been about impossible to get an appointment to take the test. Been trying for weeks online and the earliest was June 3 (cutting it a bit close for me) and yesterday one popped up for today at 12:15 .
You can get a DOT physical just about anywhere. Call an urgent care. Shouldn't take more than a couple hours, and you can probably get it done today before noon.
The school requires you use theirs (They are paying for it) I am ok with that because its my primary they are sending me to . I was just more concerned that I cant find a clear answer about needing it before the permit test or can I take it after the permit test. The school info was also useless.
Got mine at a cvs just to be safe for 99$ The lady at the sos had no clue about a lot of stuff so you may have to know more than them.
So the answer for future reference. Im sitting here now. You can take the NC knowledge test without your medical. The woman told me if you pass it they will put it into accepted status and as soon as you get the medical bring the form over to update it to reflect the passed medical
This is for G P D , a few months ago you ask a question about tire wear, I answered and said 3" or less different circumference was ok. I was thinking off road use , for on road keep it under 1" circumference . Hope you see this, it's been nagging me that I made a mistake, sorry.
