Hello I just bought a 2017 Wilson commander hopper. It's a tandem axle with one being a lift axle. I am new to lift axles and am wondering if mine is working properly? There a gray box on the front of the trailer where the switch is for the lift. When I switch it to drop my axle down the whole suspension on the trailer drops its air then the axle drops and then everything airs back up...is this normal operation? Thanx for any help!
Yes that is normal.The reason it does that is to equalize the pressure through out the system so you don't blow bags
Yes. Basically a lift axle is lifted by the stationary axle filling up the air bags on it , Actually it's overfilling them but it's designed that way so no harm no foul
