Going to have a Dynasys installed this week at boomer diesel. My question is to those of you whom have had one installed....
Just wondering if there was anything I should ask them to do differently??
Anything you didn;t like and think could be done differently with the install??

I'm going to Boomers in 30 days or less (hopefully) ask if the recall is going to effect your new one. I don't want to(or see you) spend $8000.00 on a new one that is going to be recalled in a month. Let me know please.

The recall was addressed last month with previous units. All units installed from now on will have the updated part already installed.

In my T2000 I had them disconnect the factory blower from the sleeper ducting and the Dynasys pushes air out all 4 vents in the back wall as well as one that they added under my bed. I think that this makes a huge difference when the temperature gets up close to 100 degrees and I don't even miss the bunk A/C while driving. I moved the controller up onto the the dash after install so I didn't have to take my shoes off and go in the bunk to start it every time I stopped and also so I could start it while going down the road if needed. The recall really was not as big of a deal as they made it sound and the newest generation of controller has apparently cured the other problems. Any new unit should be good to go with the updates already done.
Before you do your first service make a hole in the floor of the generator unit in the right front corner with a hole saw to pass the oil drain hose through.
This will make it drain better and not allow any mess inside the unit.
My unit is a year old and I'm very happy with it.bubbanbrenda, RedForeman and SHC Thank this. -
Thanks Allan. I'm going to have them remove my AC system in the bunk as the unit is the exact same size and will fit right in its place. I have a flat top truck with a 60" bunk so heating and cooling should not be an issue at all.
Ill update as the install goes along. -
also, Ive got a 86" sleeper black of course will the Dynasis cut it in Loredo in August?
-
I have a dark blue T2000 and do not partition off the sleeper area.
The install really determines how well any APU cools your cab.
The Dynasys blower pushes 250 cfm but if all of the vents are near the floor you won't be comfortable standing up. Humidity is the biggest enemy of your APU also.
I've been comfortable in California at 106 degrees and other areas with high humidity your pushing it at 95 degrees. Also it makes a big difference if you just pulled off the highway with a hot engine and transmission or if you've had your curtains up since morning when it was still cool outside.MJ1657 and bubbanbrenda Thank this. -
SHC thanks for posting this. I've been considering the same for my son's truck. Curious to see the replies.
Carry on! -
Well, my schedule has made me push out the install till probably the end of the month. I had a stop off in OKC, but the load canceled so I had to grab one going elsewhere. I will just make sure to take a Truckload in a few weeks there directly and get it installed.
