Yes. I had twice log book violations.
1 minute over my 11h clock.
    It was my fault.
    Unintentional.
The other one was 14h extension
with a 3h in the sleeper split sleeper mode.
The next day I got a call from Safety and asked
to change my 3h OFF Duty into 3h of Sleeper.
To be legal. Done and done.
    My fault again.
    Unintentional again.
    I never intended to cheat.
Just mistakes due to unforeseen driving conditions or distraction.
    Satisfied, now?

Another Canadian driver. Nice to see an honest person who takes his job seriously. All this nonsense about using pc to gain hours is bs. It is too bad there is no way to sometimes get say an hour.

It's not unheard of. I run my own show, and I've only been in violation twice.

    1. 8hr 6min to get to the receiver, where I was going to reset overnight. I said screw the 30-min break, and ran it.

    2. I was parked at a truckstop that was mostly empty. I didn't have anything on the deck, so I figured it would be a good time to practice backing into tight spots. (I pretended there were trucks parked there) Anyways, one of the times I got kicked to the drive line, and it put me over my 14 hour clock.

That's it in two years, and I have the power to do just about whatever I want with my logs. It's easy to stay within the rules. When I did my new entrant safety audit, the didn't see a single red flag when I sent them 30 days of logs. All you have to do is take it seriously.

    Thank you, Sir.
I consider myself a professional representing a renowned corporation.
Their name is plastered all over the equipment I operate.
Every mistake I do, it'll come back to haunt them and their name.
Even my presence here is due to the fact I still have so much to learn.
But to be dishonest, that's a bridge I'll never cross.
It'll destroy the trust we have in each other.
It'll will make any relation impossible.
It'll haunt me personally, in the end too.

1 minute over hour 11 and they violated you? Wow. I have been in the same circumstance as the op, tho 9nly 15minutes. I drove it in violation, wrote a note, company said nothing, got inspected, scale said nothing.

It was dark, it was raining and I had 12 minutes to exit and park.
Easy, peasy. Right. Not so fast.
That exit was kinda special and I couldn't understand
what I was doing wrong to miss it the first time.
So, I kept on driving and took the next exit 3 miles down the road.
Came back on the other side of the interstate.
Took another jab at the exit and missed it again.
I got it the 3rd time. And the rest was history.
That exit was special because it was about 1.5 miles earlier
than the road I needed to be to get to the truck stop.
I expected twice to be maybe 1/4 miles before the road.
Dazed and confused in the dark and pouring rain.
That was me back there and then.
Thanks Rand McNally for the confusion.
You are a good friend, though.
