Isn't Canada still procrastinating over certified ELD's? I have not been following this closely but thei last article I read mentioned that very few devices were approved. What will happen to US trucks entering Canada with a non compliant ELD? One of the nany weaknesses of Canadian government is they always want to be different. The CRTC is a good example. On the other hand our Southen neighbors allowed the ELD mfrs. to self certify. A ridiculous idea. Some of the cell phone apps are useless.

Technically there's no violation. You just can't drive until you get your sleeper time.

Line 3: When you drive "hard" to make an appointment you will not bump a dock for 2 hours after your arrival.

Nope. For us in daycabs the same rules apply as a sleeper truck. You can be on duty 168 hours continuously in a week. What you can't do is drive after the 14th hour without the proper off duty/sleeper period.

Ours puts us in violation if we’re on duty after 14.

That's company policy/crappy eld. It's not part of the regulation.

    I’m guessing it’s because we run 5 14’s in a row.

    Yard
Unfortunately yard move exemption still counts your cycle time, just not your driving time...

It is obvious that fmca does not understand anything about trucking. Many things should not be written in stone. It is ridiculous that moving your truck from the pumps to a parking area starts your driving log. Maybe the shmucks that write the regs should experience the job.
