With the company ELD mounted on the dash, there is no room for my trucker gps. I'm wondering if I could mount either of them directly overhead in the sun visor area of is there a regulation against it. I know I'm not sticking it to the windshield. The CB is up there so why could the ELD be right next to it?

Not a new trucker but I did take 4 years off to drive local off road Ag-CMVs.

I thought you were gonna say you took 4 years off to stay in a Holiday Inn express.

Best place for ELD is in the trunk.
Please excuse me. It’s 4:40am. I get this way when working all night.

Use a mount in one cup holder. It swivels, and brackets are available in various sizes. Cheap. Simple.

Most importantly, not on your dash.

Scales and POE routinely target semis with a cluttered dash. (Out of sight ~ Out of mind)

I saw a driver with his GPS mounted to his windshield directly in front of his face. SMH!

    Slomosion Thanks this.

I have a friend who fired a driver for speeding. The driver wasn't the brightest bulb in the string of lights. He bought a new nav unit, had it stuck to the dash but got a ticket for the obstruction, so the driver got pissed off trying to put it somewhere else then got the bright idea out of frustration to duct taped it to the instrument panel. After trying different locations to find a clear view of it, the only place he could find was over the speedometer and tach. He got nailed for speeding because the nav unit crapped out on him and he couldn't read the speedometer because of the duct tape on it so as he said, he "winged it".
