Just going off historical data. When drivers are breaking HOS to make more money (because why else would they break HOS?) fatalities go up. This is a fact. If you don't like it, sorry for you.
Eld repeal, odds?

Im Certainly not going to Debate this with you @ZVar .
Where do you see me stating ANYTHING about Breaking Hours of Service Rules?
Nowhere- This isnt about HOS, Its about handling your day accordingly without being Confined to a Electronic Device.....
lol, You dont know me,And for you to post something so Ridiculous thinking were Out Here Running 18 hours a day,Killing people on Paper, Your on a different Planet....
I Dont even Work that Hard Anymore- Rare Do I even Drive 10 hours a day.....
So Im going to Finish this out saying to you As a Professional- The ELD is not a Safe Alternative to Logging.
And That's That. -
Nothing but how HOS is recorded has changed, so the only option for it to be more stressful is you are not recording HOS accurately. And heck, ELD's aren't even accurate, just simply more accurate (they grab fairly accurate drive time, but no other on duty time)

LoneRanger, Long FLD, Sirscrapntruckalot and 3 others Thank this. -
The chance is naught.
Odds of changing HOS are pretty fair, however.Oxbow Thanks this. -
From personal experience I can say I’ve done more dangerous actions fighting the eld clock then running paper logs. Like many others I’m not out on the road doing west coast turn arounds. That being said, that amount of times I’ve been passed recklessly on a 2 lane hwy because some eld driver is fighting the clock and speeding vs me driving speed limit on paper and knowing I will make it to my test area even if it’s 30 minutes or an hr past my 11 hr drive time. Who do you think is more dangerous and likely to cause a accident? What many fail to understand, and again this is me speaking from personal experience is that the lack of ELDs flexibility cause many driver to act dangerously on the road.

Take that eld and plastic truck and stick it were the sun dont shine. Those guys are the least safe I have ever seen on the road. You electronic babes have no spine and follow the goverment, and follow the megas but drive terrible.

I think hands down eld has made things more unsafe.
Everyone is on edge all the time. Everyone trying to beat the clock.
Worst idea ever.Oxbow, clausland, Cabinover101 and 7 others Thank this. -
^^^ This right here ^^^
Even if the EDL mandate was repealed, the mega's would still run them. So drivers would still be stuck with them & the same problems would still exist. The only benefit would be small, mom & pop companies & O/O's. -
People want to blame the ELD for everything it seems. If people are racing the clock then they need more time to do the run. That's the truth nobody wants to hear, including the trucking companies
