I guess I just see that at the rate tech is advancing it was inevitable that it would get into trucking, that's why I don't think ELD's will get beat, the other issue from a personal experience that I have posted on before was that I did have a driver get into an injury accident about 5 or 6 years ago, his toll and fuel receipts didn't match up, now they weren't far off, but they weren't perfect.

It made for along drawn out trial and cost my insurance company a lot of money, accident wasn't even really my guys fault, wrong place wrong time, could of happened to anyone, it was shortly after that we went ELOGS.

I just look at it as a CYA program among other things.

 

Comparing these two mindsets -- ABOVE (pro-eld) vs. BELOW (anti-eld)

@KANSAS TRANSIT point of view is the BIGGEST underrated benefit of ELD. It helps streamline the "business" of trucking that is often ignored by O/O's.

With a good eld tool, most of the paperwork that get's messy is quickly/easily cleaned up, that @jamespmack may not even need a "transportation consultant".

One thing about consultants (I used to be one) is they tell you things you already know, but dont wanna hear/do....and then you PAY THEM, for telling you that crap.

To @jamespmack if you want to streamline the "business" side of the game, maybe you should try TRUCKLOGICS which will do the IFTA headache for you on the fly. Way cheaper than having a "transportation consultant"
