But like i said i m adding 1 or 2 quarts within 2000-2500 miles. That’s normal right? Without any leaks

Ok couple ideas. 1. Don't top it off till it hits the low level. See if it stabilizes. You may find it levels off and stops going down. 2. look for obvious leaks. 3. Consider a different brand of oil, and maybe shorting your oil change intervals. I don't care what anyone or Cummins tells you. I would change a ISX at 15k miles and no longer. Personally I would do 10k but thats my weird way. Oil and grease will be the cheapest things you ever buy. 4. inspect turbo for oil leaking out exhaust.

No, that's not normal. In 15000 miles that's 2 or three gallons. Way too much. Try what James recommended above, if it's still using oil, you need to visit an engine shop and find out why.

I drove one that used a gallon every 1500-2000 miles. Ryder said that according to Cummins, that was normal oil consumption.

ISX motors only like mobil1 or delo400. Mine had a sticker on the frame that said only mobil 1. And that sticker did not lie.

You'd be amazed at oil consumption between top tier and crappy oils. Crappy oil also causes gasket leaks.

    Dan.S and Lepton1 Thank this.

You isx probably has carbon packing up on the rings. It will just get worse and worse. It is a known issue with those engines. Start saving for a inframe.

I don't own a Isx and don't plan on it. I have worked on a few. But I might give this a try in the engine oil, and the fuel. Been since 1946. While its not a store brand it works on alot of applications. Its worth a shot. Carry extra fuel filters. 23-138x206.jpg

Those poor motors are choked to death, I like them though, if you do an inframe do a delete, she'll run a lot better and you won't have to buy def.
