engine oil temp

I've run several newer ISX 450s and every one of them tops out at 240 or a little more when pulling a heavy load up hill. If it was a problem messages would come up on the dash and the ECU would email my shop manager's BlackBerry.

If the heat causes the oil pressure to drop, I would be concerned.

Just some more info: From looking at various PDF documents on current cummins engines, they all have maximum ALLOWABLE sump temperature of 250 degrees. So as long as you are not exceeding 250 for any siginificant amount of time, you are perfectly fine.

I dont have any warning lights or buzzers come on, thats why I wasnt sure if there was a problem or not.
Iv'e noticed when Im empty Im usually 220-230. When Im loaded (and I travel at 96k with a tri-axle trailer and pushers on my truck) Im generally between 230-250, never over 250 though.
